C C Campground 717 sits on 7595 McCarthy Beach Road, right on the water of Side Lake in northern Minnesota. We're not a resort with a full schedule of activities — we're a working campground that's been open long enough to know what campers actually want: a good spot, a clear view of the lake, and room to spread out.
Whether you're pulling in with a travel trailer, parking the truck for a couple of nights, or settling in for the season, we'll point you to a site with shade, space, and a shoreline worth spending time on. The lake is yours to enjoy — kayaking, fishing, or just sitting on the dock and watching the loons.

The area
Side Lake is the kind of place people come back to.
Side Lake sits in the heart of Minnesota's north woods — about two hours northeast of Duluth. It's the kind of lake that doesn't need much explaining: clear water, decent fishing, and a shoreline that feels like you could be anywhere except five hours from the nearest big city.

Walleye, northern pike, and crappie draw anglers all season. The lake holds fish, and it holds them well.
